Fresher Administration and Logistics Officer Job – Good Neighbors International Uganda

Good Neighbors is an international, non-profit humanitarian organization committed to child education, community development, and emergency relief projects in 30 countries around the world. We have fundraising offices in the USA, Korea, and Japan, and an International Cooperation Office in Geneva. Good Neighbors USA opened its Los Angeles office in 2007, which currently handles fundraising, donor management, volunteer programs, and marketing campaigns for all major projects. In December 2010, a Washington D.C. office was established to network and partner with other organizations, as well as obtain grants from U.S. government agencies and foundations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • The Administration and Logistics Officer will provide logistics and administrative support at the Field Office for smooth running.
  • The incumbent will be tasked with building strong relationships with INGO / UN agencies, other Local Organizations, Government Agencies for resources providing and sharing.
  • Handling all the necessary preparation and arrangement for, human resource related activities, logistical activities and all other necessary administrative processes and activities.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: 

  • The ideal candidate for this vacancy must hold a university degree or its equivalent
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in similar position.
  • Proven ability to understand and use basic accounting systems such as QuickBooks, SPSS and other data analysis software, and relevant experience in logistics and procurement, among others are highly preferable.
  • Have a strong aspiration and interest in humanitarian and community development works
  • Skills in administration
  • Good working knowledge and skill of computer
  • Previous experience in communications, humanitarian and government policy issues.
  • Ability to communicate in a diplomatic and assertive manner
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Able to work gracefully under pressure;
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Possess good skills for conflicts and Conflict resolutions.
  • Must be a self-directed, self-reliant and a person of High Integrity
  • Ability to move away from home for long distances for organizational activities
  • Being a native of Palisa District or able to Speak Iteso is an added advantage.

Marie Stopes International Uganda (MSI Uganda) is an international branch office of MSI. In 2015, MSI Uganda assumed leadership of the USAID Long Term Family Planning Methods (LTFP) Programme.  The LTFP Programme expands affordable services and choice of the full range of contraceptive choice to rural and underserved communities through a dynamic mix of mobile clinical outreach, social franchising and community based distribution.  In partnership with the Ministry of Health, this programme supports the long term capacity of public and private sector providers to deliver high quality FP counselling and services.

The primary responsibility of this role is to further MSI’s Goal: The Prevention of Unwanted Births and its mission of ensuring the individual’s right to: Children by Choice Not Chance. 

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Transport Assistant who will able to safely and effectively drive and maintain the outreach vehicle to a high standard.  S/he will also be expected to support the clinical Outreach Team to conduct outreach activities, including but not limited to: site preparation, stock management, and effective record keeping. S/he will support service providers in the vocal local technique and any outreach activities as required. Outreach is a strategic channel for providing greater access to rural communities with unmet need and unmet demand for family planning (FP) services, especially long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) and permanent methods.  Clinical outreach is a primary service delivery channel under the LTFP Programme.

About you:

To be considered for the role you will have:


  • At least an  O and A Level certificate (UCE;UACE)
  • Valid Ugandan Driving License (manual transmission essential)
  • Knowledge of either of the two regions languages is a MUST (Westnile languages(Lugbara, Madi,Alur(luo) Kakwa) and (Central region Languages)


  • At least 2 years’ experience driving 4×4 vehicles in difficult terrain and in all seasons.
  • Experience working as part of a highly functioning team.
  • Excellent record keeping and time management.
  • Attention for detail.
  • Computer literate (ability to effectively enter data into an electronic database).
  • Ability to work well with others in team environments; must be able to satisfy stakeholders; should be able to work in deadline-driven results-oriented environment.
