Job Title: Marketing Assistant

Reports to: Senior Marketing Executive/Sales & Marketing Manager
Main Job purpose:
- Contribute to business expansion & penetration through identifying new customers.
- Delivering on Business Plans through the achievement of set sales targets.
- Acquiring new business opportunities by signing on new customers for the Company.
- Managing existing customers with good follow through aftersales customer service in order to ensure attainment of set re-order targets as well as support on customer safety.
- Riding/ Driving and Keeping in good mechanical condition a company Motorcycle/ Tri-Cycle (Tuk-Tuk) or vehicle which one is provided to simplify/ facilitate field sales.
Main responsibilities of the position: –
SALES
- Identify new markets and business opportunities
- Visit potential customers for new business
- Engage existing customers for refill/ repeat business
- Gather market and customer information and provide feedback on buying trends
- Represent the Company at trade exhibitions, events, promotions & town/neighborhood storms
- Compiling and maintaining a list of prospective and current customers for use as sale leads
- Attending scheduled or impromptu Sales or staff meetings at the office
- Attending trade seminars and trainings whenever elected to
- Sales process management
- Devise creative “out-of-the-box” ideas for closing sales and implement them after consultation
- Be responsible and accountable for meeting deadlines
- Giving feedback to Management
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
- Frequently visiting acquired or assigned customers to check on restocking needs, as well as safety measures compliance.
- Maintain smooth & balanced relationship with the customers.
- Develop and prepare periodic Reports on sales performance within your assigned scope
- Ensure proper and safe delivery of supplies to customers in good condition, and also following set safety and operational standards.
- Ensuring reconciled product and cylinder stocks between what is picked from the company and what is returned to the company at every close of day.
- Payment collection from Sales proceeds and passing it on to the company at every close of the business day.
- Deliver on any other business-related demands as requested by the Senior Marketing Executive or the Sales and Marketing Manager from time to time.
Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) of the position: –
- Attainment of number of new business sign-ons as per targets provided
- Attainment of number of prospects as per minimum expectations set
- Ensure that all existing & new customers are performing according to sales expectations.
- Ensure timely delivery of supplies to customers.
- Ensure that high customer service standards are delivered to the customers
- Ensure zero product safety incidents at the customer premises and on the road.
- Ensure that all payments collected are passed over to the company within the required time.
Minimum Academic Qualifications and Experience: –
- Relevant Business and/ or Marketing Diploma or Certificate
- Job Sales experience is preferred but not a must.
- Previous experience with a distributorship is desired but not a must.

- Fluent in English and other local languages especially Luganda.

- Good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Ability to work under pressure and meet stipulated deadlines.
