Job Summary:

The Accounts Relationship Officer will undertake the responsibility of promoting, selling, processing, monitoring, recording, and evaluating client loans, which include Business Loans, Agricultural Loans, Personal Loans, and Micro-Lending Loans such as Self-Managed Groups, FINCA Easy Loans, and Micro Individual Loans.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively market all FINCA products and services to potential clients.
  • Identify potential customers, markets, and products, develop and execute strategies for customer acquisition and retention in alignment with branch strategies, credit policy, and customer relationship management standards.
  • Increase deposits and loan portfolio value in the assigned branch in accordance with set targets.
  • Appraise and prepare detailed loan facility applications in line with policy to assess their eligibility for credit facilities aimed at improving portfolio quality.
  • Monitor and evaluate loan performance, follow up, and recover loans.
  • Coordinate client sensitization seminars and information dissemination for existing and potential borrowers.
  • Plan, review, and monitor strategies for growing loans, quality control, and submission of periodic reports as per the work plan and FINCA Uganda lending policy.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in any business-related field from a recognized University/Tertiary Institution.
  • Hands-on experience in sales and community mobilization.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently.
  • Fluency in English and one or two local languages.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and uphold a positive company image.
  • Strong problem-solving, multitasking, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and other relevant software.
  • High levels of analytical and creative skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Availability to travel up to 70% of the available time.
