Job Summary: Join us as an Operations Intern at DAFRIC Logistics Limited, where you’ll have the opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience in various aspects of logistics operations. Working closely with our teams in Kenya and Uganda, you’ll contribute to ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery to our customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
- Monitor shipment schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Collaborate with the sales team to maintain adequate truck supply.
- Assist in managing vendor relationships and contract negotiations.
- Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement.
- Participate in field visits to understand operational challenges.
- Contribute to the development of operational processes and procedures.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to operations.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Currently pursuing or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Passion for pursuing a career in logistics and operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Willingness to travel and work in different locations within Kenya and Uganda.
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is a plus.
