Job Title: Territory Sales executive

Position Description: The Sales Representative will be responsible for ensuring that all sales targets for d.light products, revenues, and collections are met within the designated sales area or territory.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Create awareness in the designated geography and assist in direct selling for our retail outlets.
  2. Recruit and manage quality Solar Energy Promoters as per the given targets.
  3. Prospect new customers and consistently expand the business.
  4. Manage the regional outlet sales agents and ensure sales targets are achieved by pushing stock out to assigned outlets.
  5. Monitor sales data and stay up to date with current market trends and customer needs, including handling customer queries and complaints.
  6. Ensure availability of stock in all outlets.
  7. Focus on activating new channels such as Experience Centers, Phone shops, and Retail Distributors.
  8. Build and maintain relationships between d.light and clients.
  9. Identify and monitor all competitive activities within the territory.
  10. Implement the d.light Route to Market strategy.
  11. Ensure quality customers are onboarded and delinquency is maintained below 20%.
  12. Review and assess new customers onboarded within the area of jurisdiction for quality of payments to ensure portfolio health.
  13. Evaluate and analyze high-risk accounts and customer payment patterns to drive compliance with defined risk and sales quality processes.
  14. Manage stock/inventory according to laid down procedures and expectations at every stock location under jurisdiction.
  15. Supervise the stocking and safety of d.light stock with Solar Energy Promoters to ensure desired approved minimum stock levels at all times.
  16. Follow up on outstanding payments from customers and ensure timely settlement.
  17. Ensure assigned tools of trade are well maintained and used to perform company work according to policies and procedures.
  18. Perform any other duties assigned from time to time.

Requirements: Desired Skills and Experience:

  • At least 1-2 years of sales experience with a demonstrable and successful sales track record.
  • A diploma/certificate in a business-related field.
  • Relevant industry background in a related industry will be an added advantage.
  • Experience working in a rapidly growing sales environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport with customers quickly and people at all levels.
  • A valid Ugandan riding license.
  • Strong mindset for continuous improvement and meeting or exceeding expectations, demonstrating complete discretion and confidentiality.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Passion for social enterprise, development of people, and environmental benefits.
