Role: Environment Operator – Biological Treatment System (BTS)

Key Purpose: As an Environment Operator, your primary role is to operate the Biological Treatment System (BTS) plant and associated process areas. You will be responsible for executing quality control checks and analyses, coaching other team members, and supporting the Process Artisan in asset care activities. Additionally, you will ensure environmental compliance across the site to the VPO Environment pillar.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and implement the plan for the shift effectively.
  • Monitor processes on the shift for the BTS, ensuring quality and productivity.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all team members.
  • Coordinate autonomous maintenance and cleaning activities.
  • Achieve BTS PTS (Process Technology Standards) compliance targets.
  • Communicate effectively within the workplace to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure the application of administration systems and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of yourself and the team.
  • Apply problem-solving and decision-making techniques as per VPO (Vision, Purpose, and Objectives) management pillar principles.

Profile:

  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • National Diploma in Chemistry, Engineering, or Quality Assurance Sciences.
  • IBD (Institute of Brewing and Distilling) certificate.
  • Completed traineeship and/or In-Service Trainee program.
  • 2 – 5 years of experience in a brewing or Quality Assurance (QA) environment.
  • Previous experience in a process-controlled manufacturing environment, ideally in food FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) products.
  • 6 months of on-the-job training.
  • Ideally, a process understanding of the Brewing process Value Chain from Raw materials transfer to BBT (Bright Beer Tank).
  • PC literacy (Microsoft/SAP) for effective operation.
