VisionFund Uganda, part of this network, is currently seeking an ICT Support Officer to join their team.
Job Summary:
As the ICT Support Officer, you will be responsible for providing user support on company-supported computer applications and platforms. Your role will involve troubleshooting IT issues, advising on appropriate actions, and ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems within the banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide first-line support for desktops, laptops, printers, and IT peripherals.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues promptly.
- Install, configure, and update software applications used in the banking sector.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement system upgrades and improvements.
- Ensure the security and integrity of IT systems through best practices.
- Assist in managing user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
- Respond to IT support tickets and service requests in a timely manner.
- Conduct end-user training sessions on IT-related topics.
- Maintain accurate records of IT issues and solutions.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, MCITP, or equivalent.
- Minimum of two years of IT support experience in the banking sector.
- Experience with desktop support, hardware troubleshooting, and software installations.
- Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and network protocols.
- Familiarity with banking software and systems.
- Strong understanding of security protocols and data protection.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
