About MONUSCO: The United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO) was established to support peace and stability in the region. As a vital part of the MONUSCO team, the Logistics Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting logistical operations within the mission.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classify and file reports, correspondences, and memos for the LogOps office.
- Translate documents, letters, MOUs, or memos as required.
- Collect weekly report activities from Integrated Services Sections (ISS).
- Complete request forms and oversee the supply of office stationery and items.
- Coordinate logistics support within Entebbe Support Base (ESB) with various ISS sections and contingents.
- Assist in logistics recce missions and draft recce reports.
- Liaise with local authorities regarding MONUSCO premises in Entebbe.
- Coordinate logistics support for military contingent rotations through ESB.
- Assist MONUSCO staff and authorized non-MONUSCO personnel during evacuation periods.
- Review rotation schedules of client missions and manage transit camp availability.
- Perform other duties assigned by the LogOps Supervisor and FAO.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid national driver’s license.
- Certificate in Administration/Logistics is desirable.
- Five years of progressive experience in Logistics.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Prior logistics experience in a UN common system field operation is desirable.
- Fluency in oral and written English.
