Job Title: Communications Officer

The UN Volunteers program is dedicated to peace and development through volunteerism globally, supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The Regional Service Centre in Entebbe (RSCE) offers scalable, efficient services to UN entities, focusing on administrative functions across various domains.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing communication strategies and implementation for the Centre’s Programs and Initiatives.
  • Support in multimedia product creation (videos, animations, photography, infographics) for digital platforms.
  • Utilize social media and analytics for broader information reach about RSCE.
  • Prepare press releases, media briefs, reports, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Identify strategic partnerships for RSCE stakeholder communication.
  • Assist in marketing strategies and manage information material production and distribution.
  • Support the communication unit with planning and technical advice.
  • Contribute to annual work plans and monitor progress.
  • Mentor junior UN staff on public information and relations.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication or Public Relations.
  • At least four years of experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Strategic Communications, Graphic Design, Videography, Journalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects).
  • Fluent in English; working knowledge of French is desirable.
  • Age: 27 – 80 years.
