Organizational Setting: As part of FAO’s One Health initiative, the NSAH-CJW is implementing the project “Empowering veterinary paraprofessional entrepreneurs” in Uganda, Nigeria, and South Africa. This project aims to enhance last mile animal health service delivery through capacity building of private sector veterinary paraprofessionals (VPPs) and improving the business environment. Gender-sensitive programming is a key focus, with women being a vital target group for these services.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in timely implementation of project activities, including monitoring, reporting, and workplan formulation.
  • Record minutes of important meetings, proofread documents, and draft invitation letters and agendas following FAO guidelines.
  • Aid in developing communication products such as PPTs, social media content, and other visibility materials.
  • Assist in organizing virtual and face-to-face events and field missions in line with FAO regulations.
  • Coordinate travel and data reimbursements for workshop attendees.
  • Collect and organize data from VPP training institutions, VPPs, and stakeholders.
  • Update project archives on sharepoint, including contact databases and attendance lists.
  • Maintain project monitoring databases, especially regarding trainee attendance.
  • Conduct surveys with VPPs for baseline and post-training assessments.
  • Support partner and stakeholder liaison activities.
  • Perform other related duties and missions as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • University degree in management, rural development, social sciences, or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience supporting project implementation.
  • Minimum one year of experience in data collection, management, and reporting.
  • Working knowledge of English (Level C).
  • National of Uganda.

Selection Criteria:

  • Familiarity with FAO or UN operations procedures is desirable.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word formatting, and SharePoint archiving.
  • Experience supporting training delivery in the animal health sector.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
