Location: Kampala, Uganda Deadline: May 13, 2024

Save the Children International is seeking a dedicated Programme Development Coordinator to join our team in Uganda. This role offers the opportunity for fresh graduates to kickstart their career in the NGO sector while making a meaningful impact in the lives of children and communities across the region. As a Programme Development Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in securing funding and partnerships to support our mission of creating sustainable change for children.

Responsibilities:

  1. Proposal Management – Lead the completion of opportunity decision guides for all funding opportunities, track proposal development processes, and ensure timely submission of competitive proposals. Collaborate with various teams to integrate proposal budgets and develop key proposal sections.
  2. Capture Planning and Opportunity Preparation – Gather and assess information relevant to upcoming funding opportunities, support long-term capture planning efforts, and proactively address challenges that may hinder the proposal development process.
  3. Continuous Learning & Knowledge Management – Lead internal funding tracking, ensure availability of resources and tools, maintain knowledge management systems, and facilitate After Action Review processes for proposals.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree qualification preferable
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and facilitating the development of major proposals
  • Strong networking, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing needs, including emergency situations
  • Fluency in English required

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in an INGO, NGO, or nonprofit organization is an asset
  • Experience in project and change management
  • Familiarity with funding mechanisms for development work
