WCS Uganda Program welcomes APPLICATIONS for the following jobs and consultancy services:

  1. Carnivore Conservation Officer, Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management, Conservation Biology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in carnivore conservation or related field.
  • Experience working in protected areas and with local communities.
  • Strong knowledge of carnivore ecology, behavior, and conservation issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  1. Community Liaison Officer, Murchison Falls Protected Area (MFPA), Kiryandongo, Oyam, and Nwoya

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Community Development, Environmental Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with communities in natural resource management or conservation projects.
  • Knowledge of community engagement strategies and participatory approaches.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  1. Driver, Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a driver, preferably in a conservation or NGO setting.
  • Familiarity with the road network and terrain in the area.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
  1. Consultancy Services for Training communities in Queen Bee Rearing, Karuma Wildlife Reserve, Kiryandongo District

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in beekeeping and queen bee rearing.
  • Experience in conducting training sessions and workshops for community groups.
  • Knowledge of beekeeping techniques, hive management, and queen rearing practices.
  • Strong communication and teaching skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and facilitate learning.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
  • Availability to travel to the project site in Karuma Wildlife Reserve, Kiryandongo District.
