The Unit, based at the UVRI Entebbe campus with outposts in Kalungu, Masaka, Wakiso, and Kampala Districts, contributes to health policy and practice in Africa and worldwide.

Job Purpose:
Support the Stores & Logistics Associate in accurately receiving, storing, and issuing the Unit’s supplies, ensuring adherence to approved Standard Operating Procedures for timely and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issue supplies to end users according to approved stores requisition vouchers.
  • Receive supplies from suppliers according to approved purchase orders.
  • Track items in storage and manage inbound/outbound movement documents.
  • Review, verify, and reconcile inbound/outbound shipping documents.
  • Repackage supplies, prepare dispatch notes, and initiate transfer orders in ERP.
  • Maintain clean storerooms with restricted access for proper storage.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly stock takes for accurate recording of stock values.
  • Generate monthly purchase order fulfillment reports and forward to procurement team.
  • Address user queries regarding stock status, availability, and shelf life.
  • Identify operational needs and initiate purchase requisitions.
  • Monitor stock levels and advise on reorder in line with replenishment policy.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports on stock utilization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a busy research or medical warehouse environment.
  • Membership in a professional body (e.g., CIPS).
  • Experience in stores and logistics management with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs and office equipment (printer, fax, copier, scanner).
  • Working knowledge of any ERP System and MS Dynamics – Navision.
