Job summary

URC Uganda Jobs: The Data Volunteers will support healthcare facility medical record’s officers to ensure that patient’s records are captured accurately in source registers and HMIS reports are compiled and submitted in time. She/He will support the collection of extra data to monitor the performance of health facilities they are posted to.

Key Objectives

  • Work with healthcare facility records officers to ensure that best practices for medical records storage and management are implemented,
  • Update the Data Officer/data clerk attached to the facility on availability of HMIS tools
  • Ensure that data on additional indicators outside of the DHIS2 reporting system are collected in time and submitted to the data clerk allocated to oversee the site
  • Work closely with records officer to ensure that HIV care data captured on patient forms during patient visits is transcribed to pre-ART and ART registers and updated in the Uganda_EMR (OpenMRS) on time (includes daily verification in ARV dispensing logs)
  • The jobholder will compile weekly, monthly and quarterly supplementary data not reported in DHIS2 and submit it to the Data Officer/ data clerk on time, as per training and guidance provided
  • Prepare monthly reports and submit to Data Officer/In-Charge.

Required Knowledge, Education, Skills, and Abilities

  • The ideal candidates for the Data Volunteer jobs must hold Diplomas in records management or relevant degree (Statistics, Demography, Computer Science, Social Sciences or Development Studies)
  • One year of working experience in data management or demonstrated relevant experience acquired through internship placement
  • Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Working knowledge of Health Management Information System (HMIS)
  • Previous experience with PEPFAR funded programs
  • Willingness to work in a rural setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High level of flexibility
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under minimal supervision
  • Previous experience in the East Central region.
