Vacancy Title: Senior Assistant – Climate Finance

Job Description:
GGGI, hosted in Uganda by the Ministry of Finance Planning and Economic Development, is seeking a Senior Assistant to support the Project Manager in day-to-day project activities for the Support Program to Enhance Access and Retention of Climate Finance (Spear-CF) project. The main objective of Spear-CF is to enhance access and retention of climate finance in Uganda to support sustainable development goals.
Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of concept notes, Project Identification Forms (PIFs), and proposals.
- Coordinate the collection of documents from key partners and contribute to the development of project documents.
- Support stakeholder engagements and ensure inclusivity.
- Coordinate consultants’ activities for the GGGI Uganda CF Program.
- Contribute to the preparation of donor reports.
- Support alignment of projects with donors’ strategies and government directions.
- Conduct background research for proposal development.
- Maintain relationships with national counterparts and key stakeholders.
- Assist in research and analysis of relevant information and knowledge.
- Assist in the assessment of program needs and resources.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, climate change, economics, or related field.
- Preferred 3 years of project experience in climate change adaptation or mitigation projects.
- Understanding of global climate finance mechanisms and trends.
- Experience working in international organizations is an advantage.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Working Conditions:
- Based in Kampala, Uganda.
- Expected to report directly to the Project Manager.
