UGAFODE Microfinance Limited (MDI) is seeking 26 Credit Officers to join their team across various branches in Uganda. As a Credit Officer, you will be responsible for customer loan applications, assessing creditworthiness, managing customer relationships, and maintaining the loan portfolio in line with the institution’s credit policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Loan Mobilization:
- Participate in asset growth campaigns.
- Schedule meetings for potential loan applicants and provide information on available loan types.
- Loan Appraisal:
- Analyze loan applicants’ financial status and credit evaluations.
- Determine feasibility of granting loans according to institution’s standards.
- Presentation to Credit Committee:
- Present and defend loan files to branch credit committees.
- Provide factual information and analysis to support credit decisions.
- Loan Compliance:
- Monitor client loan performance daily.
- Ensure compliance with loan terms, credit policies, and procedures.
- Reporting:
- Report on client loan compliance, non-compliances, and loan repayment trends.
- Loan Recovery:
- Lead loan recovery efforts at branch level.
- Monitor loan performance, KYC/AML procedures, and collateral.
- KIVA Project Initiator:
- Disseminate information on the KIVA project to clients.
- Assist clients with completing application forms for the KIVA project.
- Loan Documentation:
- Collect, complete, and update client loan files as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum Diploma in Microfinance, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Education, Agriculture, Social Development Studies, or related fields.
- Experience in community development field operations, sales, or SACCOs.
- Strong analytical skills with a numerate personality.
- Ability to plan, organize, and deliver customer service effectively.
- Team player with influencing and negotiation skills.
- Business-driven mindset with a fast-learning ability.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite.
- High level of integrity and ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit.
