About the Role:
Are you a structured, proactive team player passionate about implementing sustainable solutions in East Africa? We are seeking a Project Coordinator to lead the implementation of our circular agrifood entrepreneurship support activities in Uganda. This role will involve collaborating closely with Bopinc’s team members in Kenya and the Netherlands.

Responsibilities:

  • Promote the Accelerator and Fund among Ugandan agri-SMEs and startups, and assist in the review and selection of applicants.
  • Tailor business support curriculum to Ugandan entrepreneurs’ needs and organize and moderate peer-learning events.
  • Recruit and train ESOs and individual business coaches to offer specialized advisory services to circular agribusiness entrepreneurs.
  • Facilitate on-site due diligence to enable the disbursement of loans and grant funding.
  • Support our Advocacy partner during engagements with policy makers and institutions in Uganda.
  • Document lessons learned for program learning publications.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for partners and stakeholders in Uganda.
  • Promote the program among relevant stakeholders and identify new partnership opportunities.
  • Represent the project at project-related and external events.
  • Assist the Program Manager with reporting to the donor.
  • Identify project risks and collaborate on risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, innovation management, economics, or related fields.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in business advisory support for startups and SMEs in the agricultural sector.
  • Passion for building a circular economy that benefits low-income producers and consumers.
  • Specific knowledge and experience in areas such as Product Development, Marketing/Sales & Distribution, and Access to Finance.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully coordinating project activities for international NGOs and donors.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders and facilitate partnerships.
  • Willingness to travel to Kenya at least twice a year.
