Uganda Airlines Profile:

Uganda Airlines is Uganda’s flagship national passenger and cargo carrier. We provide scheduled air transportation services in East Africa and near-international markets.

On 23rd April 2019, we received our first two Bombardier CRJ900s, the first of a growing fleet. During our first phase of operations, we will be flying to the cities of Nairobi, Mombasa, Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, Juba, Bujumbura, and Mogadishu.

With the upcoming arrival and addition of new planes to our fleet, we will expand our route map and fly to DRC, Zanzibar, Asmara, Hargeisa, Lusaka, Harare, Johannesburg, Djibouti, and Addis Ababa, and plan to make international flights connecting Uganda to Europe, the Middle East, West Africa and Asia.

 

 

Job Profile:

The Documents Verifications Supervisor shall manage all matters relating to documents verification at check=in, Transit Lounge, Boarding gate and ensure the provision of the highest level of customer service the airline customer while at the airport.

 

 

Roles and responsibilities:

Key accountabilities /responsibilities:

  • To ensure the Documents Verification  Team are trained and motivated to deliver a consistent & excellent standard of service to our passengers
  • To ensure document verification is carried out professionally to eliminate illegal travel, human trafficking and forgeries
  • Liaise with other security organs to ensure only genuine and legitimate passengers travel
  • To constantly monitor new changes in the industry standards and implement applicable ones
  • To carry out all Documents Travels functions as required including the identification of legislative, statutory and procedural requirements and ensuring their compliance
  • The maintenance of Company Health & Safety policy
  • To effectively communicate daily shift events to other department internally and externally to ensure all stakeholders are aware of plans and potential consequences
  • Report any incident to the Duty Manager and/or Relevant authorities.

Qualifications

  • University degree or Diploma in Tourism, hospitality, aviation or business administration with experience in an all-round airport handling operation with an airline or GHA focusing on Travel Documents.
  • At least 3 – 5 years relevant experience in a similar role
  • Good working knowledge of all Document Verification Processes
  • Customer care training
  • IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations Training.
  • Security awareness training
  • Airside safety training
  • Passenger Handling Procedures
  • Good level of people and operational management skills including leadership, resource management, planning, communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of statutory and procedural obligations of the business including health and safety, employment and security issues
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-­motivated
