Baylor College of Medicine Children’s Foundation -Uganda (Baylor-Uganda) is an indigenous not-for-profit child health and development organisation affiliated to the Baylor College of Medicine International Paediatric AIDS Initiative (BIPAI), a Network of paediatric HIV/AIDS care and treatment Children’s Clinical Centres of Excellence and international program offices in 11 countries across Africa and Eastern Europe.

 

 

Job Summary:

The holder of the position will perform day to day COVID-19 vaccine rollout monitoring and evaluation related tasks, including management of data, oversight of documentation at the district level and across various vaccination sites, mentorship of health care workers and volunteers in capturing and management of data in line with current GOU/MoH guidance. S/he will collaboratively work with district biostatisticians and EPI focal persons to provide technical oversight of data and health facility teams to ensure the generation and maintenance of high-quality data that informs COVID-19 vaccine delivery planning and implementation efforts.

 

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the COVID-19 Vaccination related M&E strategies and activities, including data management, monitoring indicators and disaggregation components, recording and reporting COVID-19 data in narrative reports and electronic information systems/EPIVAC.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to districts and sub-national partners in all relevant aspects of COVID-19 monitoring and evaluation, continual quality improvement, and data analysis, visualization and use.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members to facilitate joint implementation, sharing of information, and problem-solving in areas where COVID-19 vaccine rollout.
  • Ensure high quality, timely reporting of COVID-19 results to the Government, and Baylor-Uganda.
  • Ensure that implementation of COVID-19 M&E/data management field activities adheres to Government of Uganda/MoH COVID-19 monitoring and evaluation strategies/data management plans.
  • Participate actively in program COVID-19 Vaccine rollout planning and review processes.
  • Assist the in preparing and submitting COVID-19 progress reports and other relevant materials (e.g. data briefs)
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be assigned from time to time.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years professional experience in M&E, with responsibility for developing and implementing M&E activities for public health programs/ initiatives.
  • Proven success in implementing, and operating project M&E systems, preferably in health.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and database management.
  • Proficient in both written and spoken English language.
  • Experience in developing and refining data collection tools; conducting data quality assessments and oversight, and providing ongoing capacity development.
  • Knowledge of the major evaluation methodologies and data collection, analysis and visualization methodologies.
  • Bachelor in statistics, demographics, or related field. Advanced certificate in M&E/ statistics will be an added advantage.
  • 3 Years Relevant Experience
