Job Title: Engineering Intern

Job Location: Mukono

 

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain the University Biogas plant and solar energy plant
  • Troubleshoot problems, and conduct tests, and periodically carry out biogas and solar plant audits and advise the Engineering and Environment staff
  • Participating in the department’s community outreach programmes, exhibitions, and conferences.
  • Participate in personal and professional skills development activities such as research and postgraduate studies.
  • Assist students in field and laboratory experimental set up by demonstrating the proper and safe use of the equipment and ensuring they have all the supplies they need to complete their practical assignments and projects.
  • Assist lecturers with setting up equipment and other supplies for practical courses before and during the lectures.

 

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering or Bachelor of Environmental Science (at least second class) from Uganda Christian University
  • Should have graduated between 2019 and 2023
  • Must have knowledge of Renewable Energy Technologies
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
