Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)

Assistant 1 (Soroti)

Job Summary:
The M&E Assistant will ensure effective implementation of M&E activities and maintain a robust M&E system at the district level. Responsibilities include overseeing data collection, management, reporting, and capacity building for progressive quality improvement. The role reports technically to the MEL Advisor and administratively to the District Programme Coordinator.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees M&E activities at the district level, including data collection, management, and reporting on project outcomes.
  • Ensures monitoring data collection and entry for all thematic areas, conducts data quality audits, and reviews data for deficiencies or errors.
  • Conducts routine data triangulation to assess accuracy, timeliness, and consistency.
  • Supports capacity development of Data Assistants, Program teams, and community structures for high-quality data collection and evidence-based learning.
  • Facilitates collaboration with both PEPFAR and Non-PEPFAR Partners within the district.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Public Health, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in M&E for USAID OVC project(s).
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Excel, SPSS, and STATA.
  • Postgraduate training in M&E or Statistics is an added advantage.
  • Good presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated, able to work under pressure, and flexible to travel to the field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
