Job Title: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer – SEFULAC Project

Position Overview: Share an Opportunity Uganda (SAO-U), a Christian child-centered organization, is seeking a qualified Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to support the SEFULAC project funded by the European Union. The project aims to end child labor in select districts, with SAO-U focusing on implementation in Abim District. The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for ensuring robust monitoring databases, timely data collection, and high-quality donor reporting.

Job Summary: The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will lead the implementation of SAO Uganda’s Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) system. They will work closely with program teams to collect, analyze, and report project data, develop donor proposals, and ensure accountability in project activities. The role involves capacity building for field teams, proposal input, and overseeing accountability frameworks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Implement program plans, including data collection, analysis, and monitoring of project activities.
  • Develop and maintain the M&E Framework for the project, updating tools and systems as needed.
  • Provide data and analysis for strategic purposes and new program design.
  • Coordinate project evaluations, surveys, and assessments.
  • Support proposal development with strong M&E components.
  • Oversee beneficiary selection and verification processes.
  • Set up and operationalize a strong MEAL system in field locations.
  • Integrate MEAL Management Information Systems into the project MEAL system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, or relevant field. A Master’s Degree is advantageous.
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Program Monitoring & Evaluation preferred.
  • Training in grant proposal/concept writing is desirable.

Working Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with e-tools and online-based reporting and M&E tools.
  • Experience in data collection, verification, analysis, and reporting.
  • At least 3 years of experience in similar roles in an NGO/INGO setting.
  • Capacity building experience for field teams in program monitoring, design, and evaluation.

  • Ability to ride a motorcycle with a valid riding permit.
