We operate Bwana Tembo Safari Camp, an exclusive lodge near Murchison Falls National Park gate in Packwach, North-Western Uganda. We are currently seeking a Finance & Administration Officer to join our team.

Job Title: Finance & Administration Officer
Reports To: Company Directors
Terms of Employment: Contract (1 year, renewable)
Area of Work: Bwana Tembo Camp Lodge, Packwach District

Purpose of the Job:
The Finance & Administration Officer will be responsible for financial administration, administrative support for HR processes, systems related to policies and procedures, and administrative support for Directors.

Roles & Duties:

Finance:

  • Operate the cash register, receipting, recording, custody, and balancing of cash.
  • Assist in client invoice preparation, processing, and follow-up.
  • Assist in comprehensive budget preparations and financial forecasting.
  • Prepare monthly payrolls, payroll accounts analysis, and reconciliation.
  • Evaluate financial systems and accounting procedures and make recommendations for changes.
  • Maintain accounting records in both soft and hard forms.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports and other analyses as required.
  • Liaise with Directors and auditors in the preparation/audit of end-of-year accounts and company annual returns.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the directors.

Administration:

  • Assist in procurement and purchase of stock supplies, consumables, and office supplies.
  • Receive and inspect all incoming materials into the stores and reconcile with purchase orders.
  • Issue materials/goods from the store against properly authorized requisitions.
  • Maintain various store files and records for documentation purposes.
  • Ensure the security of materials and goods under control.
  • Conduct self-imposed checks (stock counts) and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain a pleasant and helpful relationship with clients and co-workers.
  • Maintain a company calendar and schedule appointments.
  • Monitor administrative aspects of other employees and evaluate discipline and punctuality.
  • Assist in maintaining a comfortable and courteous ambiance for clients.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by supervisors.

Education & Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
  • Professional qualification – partial or full – in CPA or ACCA is an added advantage.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills with both staff and clients.
  • Excellent numeracy skills.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
