The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a dedicated and skilled National Programme Officer for the Labour Mobility and Inclusion (LMI) programme. Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of the Labour Mobility and Regional Integration project.
  • Manage project implementation, including financial, administrative, and technical aspects.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of project expenditure and recommend initiatives for consistency.
  • Supervise project staff, consultants, and service providers, ensuring effective coordination.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and partners.
  • Prepare regular progress reports and ensure proper information exchange between stakeholders.
  • Identify and manage complementary activities to enhance project impact.
  • Oversee project-related procurement efforts, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Contribute to the identification and development of new project opportunities.
  • Participate in seminars, meetings, and events to promote IOM’s work in labour migration.
  • Ensure proper monitoring of project activities in collaboration with the M&E officer.
  • Contribute to advocacy, capacity building, knowledge management, and visibility efforts.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations, or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant professional experience is also acceptable.
  • Field experience in Labour Migration and Social Inclusion is preferred.
  • Experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and working with government and donors.
  • Strong multitasking skills, ability to manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with UN coordination mechanisms.
  • Fluency in English (oral and written) is required. Knowledge of French or Spanish is an added advantage.

Skills:

  • Proficient in budget preparation, monitoring, and implementation.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Office, social media, and collaboration platforms.
  • Detailed knowledge of Labour Migration and Social Inclusion portfolio.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
