Key Duties and Responsibilities: As a Plant Maintenance Mechanic, your role involves:

  1. Assisting in the installation of new machines within the plant.
  2. Diagnosing and addressing mechanical faults and breakdowns.
  3. Conducting preventive, autonomous, and breakdown maintenance.
  4. Reporting and assisting in the analysis of incidents or potential hazards.
  5. Monitoring and recording the use of workplace consumables and making requisitions as needed.
  6. Using and maintaining workshop tools according to working conditions and specifications.
  7. Daily checks to ensure machines meet safety standards.
  8. Planning and developing work schedules, equipment usage schedules, and maintenance procedures.
  9. Preparing daily maintenance reports for submission to the Mechanical Supervisor and Production Officer.
  10. Providing operational support to Machine Operators.
  11. Participating in daily housekeeping practices.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience: To be eligible for this role, you should have:

  • A Higher or Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least three years of experience in electrical repair and maintenance, including one year of supervisory experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical components and their applications.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical maintenance, production processes, and control logic.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical skills, and troubleshooting abilities.
