The Finance Assistant will ensure the timely and accurate reporting of EGPAF financial and accounting information.

Job Description: No two days are alike at EGPAF, but what can you expect in this role?

  1. In liaison with program officers, support the District Health Officer and/or designated district health office staff in developing budgets and quarterly cash requests.
  2. Ensure swift disbursement of funds for program activities in alignment with district-approved work plans and budgets.
  3. Participate in monitoring the implementation of project-funded activities to ensure alignment with the agreed-upon implementation plan.
  4. Prepare quarterly activity financial reports for various districts.
  5. Prepare other regular financial reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence as required.
  6. Input accounting data into the accounting system accurately and efficiently.
  7. Plan, organize, and manage workload to contribute to the organization’s monthly financial reporting process in a timely and accurate manner.
  8. In liaison with the Finance & Administration Officer, track monthly advances to project staff and district teams.
  9. Provide financial support to team members and resolve finance-related queries.
  10. Carry out any other duties reasonably assigned by the Supervisor.

To Be Successful, You Will Have:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, and at least CPA or ACCA level 2.
  2. At least 1 year of relevant experience in accounting in non-profit organizations with a proven track record in financial management and an understanding of accounting processes and procedures.
  3. Experience in an international donor environment, particularly managing US government funds and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations.
  4. Experience working with Local Government partners and knowledge of their operations.
  5. Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to follow through.
  6. Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines, troubleshoot, and problem-solve.
  7. Training in Computer and knowledge of accounting software systems (e.g., QuickBooks Pro).
  8. Ability to work under pressure, meet targets and deadlines, and willingness to travel to project districts.
  9. Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse social and cultural environment.
  10. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
