Job Title: Electrician Graduate Trainees (4)

Location: Kampala, Uganda. Mobilized to Albert Lake, construction sites, or other cities if required.

Primary Function: Learn and assist in executing oilfield power system and electrical equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in executing new oil-field power system and electrical equipment commissioning and start-up.
  • Assist in collecting and following up on power system and electrical equipment-related issues left out by the engineering unit.
  • Get familiar with power systems, electrical equipment, ESD, and fire & gas system principles, position, and performance.
  • Learn to manage emergency response as per the emergency response plan.
  • Assist with operating power and electrical equipment, routine checks, and records management.
  • Participate in handling power systems and electrical equipment-related faults and report to senior electrical technicians, cooperate with other departments when necessary.
  • Assist in carrying out electrical equipment preventive maintenance properly as per the PM plan.
  • Ensure worksite cleanliness and safety are maintained.
  • Participate in coordinating and supervising electrical-related contractors onsite work.
  • Execute instruction from senior electrical technician.
  • Perform other duties assigned by superiors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 0-2 years’ work experience is preferred with an Oil & Gas industry background.
  • Knowledge of power systems and electrical equipment.
