Job Title: Power Operator Trainees (8) (16 Oil and Gas Fresher Jobs)

Location: Kampala, Uganda. Mobilized to Albert Lake, construction sites, or other cities if required.

Primary Function: Learn to execute oilfield power generation operations and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in executing new oil-field power generation commissioning and start-up.
  • Assist in collecting and following up on power generation-related issues left out by engineering.
  • Learn to manage emergency response as per emergency response plan.
  • Participate in operating power generators, normal routine checks, and records management.
  • Assist with handling power generator abnormalities and report to senior power generator operators, and cooperate with other departments when necessary.
  • Participate in executing power generator preventive maintenance as per the PM plan.
  • Ensure worksite cleanliness and safety are maintained.
  • Support in coordinating and supervising power generation-related contractors onsite.
  • Learn to conduct on-site training and work as a mentor for National power generator operators.
  • Perform other duties assigned by superiors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • At least 0-2 years’ work experience is preferred with an Oil & Gas industry background.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and power generators.
  • Experience with power generator maintenance.
