Job Title: Communications Assistant

Reports To: Executive Assistant to the ED

Department: Office of the ED

Job Summary: The Communications Assistant will play a crucial role in promoting the project’s image through various activities and will be responsible for drafting documents and correspondences for the Executive Office. This role involves supporting communication strategies, editing materials, and ensuring consistency in messaging across various platforms.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in promoting the project’s image through planned activities.
  • Draft documents and correspondences for the Executive Office.
  • Provide support to all teams in designing and editing materials for different audiences and contexts.
  • Offer administrative support to the Communications Team in tracking communication activities and deadlines.
  • Monitor Mass Enrolment and Renewal media exposure and handle negative press.
  • Execute social media strategies and maintain web content.
  • Draft and edit internal and external communication articles, such as publications, press releases, and social media posts.
  • Facilitate effective in-house communications.
  • Support and implement feedback strategies related to Mass Enrolment and Renewal.
  • Maintain media calendars, appointments, and support media engagements.
  • Ensure branding and style compliance across all project materials, representing Communication Team policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations, including the Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Executive Assistant to the ED.

Qualifications / Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree with Honours in Communications Skills and Literature, Public Relations, Mass Communication, or related field.
  • Proficiency in graphics design and experience with Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign.
  • Membership in the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) is an advantage.

Experience and Skills:

  • Previous experience in media relations will be beneficial.
  • Proficient in IT and computer use.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to think creatively.
  • Decisive and able to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Team player with good organizational skills.
  • High moral character and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible to work night shifts and weekends, if required.
  • Comfortable working on computers for extended periods.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in work.
