Job Purpose:
As a Credit Relationship Officer, you will be responsible for conducting due diligence on potential borrowers, analyzing creditworthiness, managing loan portfolios, and ensuring compliance with Numida’s policies and procedures.

Reporting Line:
This role typically reports to the Credit Team Leader.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct due diligence interviews with loan applicants via phone, analyzing creditworthiness and repayment capabilities.
  • Perform financial analysis of loan applicants, engaging with them as needed to validate business activities and financial situations.
  • Make recommendations to the Credit Committee for each loan application, supported by thorough analysis.
  • Collect loan repayments, following Numida’s escalation process for delinquent borrowers.
  • Generate new business through referral calls and collaborate with the Product team on service improvement experiments.
  • Address inbound service inquiries via phone and WhatsApp, ensuring resolution and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Conduct periodic field visits for monitoring and collections escalation.
  • Maintain service standards and resolve complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Record accurate customer information in the CRM system to facilitate effective issue resolution.
  • Stay updated on Numida’s product offering to provide accurate information and support to clients.

Job Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a credit officer or related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Microfinance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in computer and mobile technology, including Android apps and desktop productivity software.
  • Fluency in English and Luganda, with additional Ugandan language skills preferred.
  • Strong customer care skills, including effective phone etiquette and chat communication.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to type 30+ words per minute (desired).
