Dfcu Bank is a leading financial institution in Uganda. We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Regional Credit Analyst. Reporting to the Head of Retail Credit Origination, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and analyzing medium to large fundable credit proposals to achieve quality portfolio growth.

Key Accountabilities:
The Regional Credit Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Analyzing information and data for customers and preparing credible credit proposals to secure quick approval from the credit approval team.
  • Proposing appropriate structure and financing needs for credit applications and advising relationship managers and customers accordingly.
  • Submitting required documents to credit and legal departments for fast turnaround time and compliance with internal controls.
  • Conducting physical visits to inspect and confirm the existence of businesses for proposed credit facilities.
  • Reviewing existing credit facilities annually and making necessary propositions for renewals and restructures.
  • Maintaining an annual credit review calendar and ensuring client compliance with set covenants and conditions.
  • Offering suggestions for policy and process improvements in line with changing business needs.
  • Undertaking quantitative and qualitative financial analysis to develop a comprehensive understanding of businesses and counterparty risks.

Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies, Management, Economics, or related field.
  • Credit Analysis and Underwriting training.
  • Two (2) years working experience in Credit Analysis in the banking industry or related field.
  • Advanced Credit Analysis skills and a thorough understanding of bank products and market trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Ability to manage time and pressure effectively to ensure efficiency.
  • Good presentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities and threats in the market.
