About KCCA:

Kampala Capital City Authority is the legal entity established by the Ugandan Parliament responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda. It replaced the Kampala City Council.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible to the Supervisor Building Control for performing the following duties:-

  • Making periodic inspections and monitoring all construction sites in the City to ensure compliance with legal requirements and applicable building rules and development plans.
  • Identifying measures and guidelines for streamlining the review and approval of development applications.
  • Carrying out inspections of completed buildings, reviewing and verifying recommendations for occupation permits, and issuing occupation permit certificates.
  • Issuing violation notices and stop-work orders, conferring with owners and authorities to explain regulations and recommend rectifications.
  • Receiving, recording, and circulating building plans submitted to the respective Divisions.
  • Reviewing and examining plans submitted for onward approval.
  • Providing technical support to land developers in setting out building plans for compliance purposes.
  • Preparing and maintaining updated information on building activities in the respective Divisions and preparing reports.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Architecture,
    • Civil Engineering,
    • Construction Management,
    • Building Engineering,
    • Structural Engineering from a recognized University / Institution.
  • Possession of a Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience in the relevant field.
  • Age: 25 years and above.

  • Where the designated recommending Officer/Responsible Officer is reluctant or declines to provide a recommendation, the applicant should clearly indicate the reason(s) on the extract of PSC Form 3 (2008) and submit it online without the recommendation.
  • Falsification of documents will lead to automatic disqualification.
