About KCCA:

Kampala Capital City Authority is the legal entity established by the Ugandan Parliament, responsible for the operations of the capital city of Kampala in Uganda. It replaced the Kampala City Council.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for performing the following duties:-

  • Maintaining the traffic control center, and making course inspections to manage traffic.
  • Setting up traffic control devices, lane closures, flagging traffic, and detours according to approved emergency guidelines and standards.
  • Inspecting work sites within the City to detect and correct deficiencies in traffic control devices and their applications.
  • Monitoring and notifying potentially hazardous conditions relating to motorists or pedestrians that need correction.
  • Designing and submitting traffic control plans for Kampala Capital City Operations to various Departments, Police, Ministry of Works and Transport, using G.I.S. maps and symbols for major road closures or urban roadwork within Kampala Capital City.
  • Participating in the design, review, and approval of Electrical drawings in KCCA.
  • Coordinating the implementation of work processes, procedures, standards, and specifications database to adopt a quality management system.
  • Conducting Electrical Installations for buildings, PS and Standby Generator operation, maintenance, and design modifications in the respective KCCA divisions.
  • Managing proper energy management on street lights within buildings by identifying and reporting any anomalies.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honors Bachelor’s Degree in either ICT; or Electrical Telecommunications; or Transport Engineering from a recognized University / Institution.
  • Possession of a Certificate in Traffic Control and Management Planning or related courses will be an added advantage.
  • Applicants should have a minimum of two (2) years relevant working experience in electrical works from a reputable organization.
  • Age: 25 years and above.

  • Where the designated recommending Officer/Responsible Officer is reluctant or declines to provide a recommendation, the applicant should clearly indicate the reason(s) on the extract of PSC Form 3 (2008) and submit it online without the recommendation.
  • Falsification of documents will lead to automatic disqualification.
