The African Center of Excellence for Bioinformatics and Data Intensive Sciences (ACE) is offering a fantastic opportunity for a recent graduate to join as an administrative assistant. Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating activities for MSC/PhD Bioinformatics students in collaboration with Makerere University College of Health Sciences, Immunology, and Molecular Biology department.
- Assisting the administrative officer in organizing meetings and events at ACE.
- Collaborating on the preparation of ACE project presentations, newsletters, and one-pagers.
- Managing and updating ACE social media platforms (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter) and website.
- Writing accurate and detailed meeting minutes.
- Providing general administrative support to the team.
- Supporting and coordinating grant writing teams.
- Any other duties assigned by the Center Director and Deputy Director.
Person Specification:
- Recent graduate between 2023 and 2024.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with ACE collaborators, employees, interns, and stakeholders.
- Proficient in using technology including MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), social media platforms, Artificial Intelligence assistants, and collaborative platforms.
- Demonstrates personal initiative and the ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
