We are on the lookout for a passionate and driven People & Culture (P&C) Intern who is eager to learn and contribute to our dynamic Human Resources team. This position is perfect for individuals with no prior experience but a strong desire to excel in the field of human resources within an international NGO setting.

Internship Overview: The P&C Intern will gain hands-on experience in human resources management, focusing on the maintenance and updating of employee records, ensuring both accuracy and confidentiality. This role offers a unique chance to understand standardized filing management systems, enhance interpersonal and communication skills, and gain exposure to Human Capital Management (HCM) systems.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Updating and maintaining precise employee records.
  • Supporting the P&C team in various assigned activities.
  • Participating in P&C meetings and contributing insights.

Key Deliverables:

  • Accurately updated employee files, including information on new hires, terminations, and other status changes.
  • Organized files that comply with legal requirements and Mercy Corps policies.
  • Completion of assigned tasks and monthly activity reports.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in computer-based tools/software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Professional conduct under pressure.
  • Effective teamwork abilities and a good sense of humor.
  • Innovative and results-oriented, with keen attention to detail.

Mercy Corps Expectations: Interns and volunteers represent Mercy Corps both during and outside of work hours. They are expected to conduct themselves professionally and adhere to local laws, customs, and Mercy Corps’ policies, procedures, and values at all times.
