About the AGECS Project:

The Advancing Gender Equality through Civil Society (AGECS) Project, under the Foundations for Empowerment and Education (F4EE) initiative, aims to fortify education systems and promote gender equality across five countries, including Uganda.

Job Summary:

AKF is looking for a MERL Officer with experience and passion for gender-responsive projects. The officer will play a crucial role in monitoring, evaluation, and ensuring the successful implementation of the AGECS project in Uganda.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support a gender-responsive Performance Management Framework (PMF) for AGECS.
  • Integrate M&E data needs into program quality tools.
  • Design and oversee program data quality assessment systems, including auditing, validation, and quality assurance.
  • Assist in planning and executing ME activities such as baseline, midline, and end-line studies.
  • Develop high-quality M&E data management systems that comply with AKF’s safeguarding and data protection policies.
  • Provide M&E data for regular program reports.
  • Establish community feedback loops for program improvement.
  • Document success stories, impacts, and lessons learned.
  • Update AKF online M&E technologies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and data analysis regularly.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in development studies, statistics, economics, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification in M&E is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of relevant M&E experience.
  • Proficiency in computer and analytics, managing complex data sets, and using different analysis tools.
  • Strong MIS software development skills.
  • Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
  • Experience working in diverse and multicultural teams.
  • A commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and the well-being of other vulnerable groups.
