About the Project:

In partnership with the MasterCard Foundation, BRAC Uganda has supported over 5,000 youths in their educational journeys. Despite these efforts, the transition into gainful employment remains a challenge for many. The Scholars’ Transition Entrepreneurship Fund is designed to address this by fostering entrepreneurship among these young individuals.

Job Summary:

The Project Officer will spearhead the implementation of the Scholars’ Transition Entrepreneurship Fund project. This involves mentoring young entrepreneurs, engaging with stakeholders, report writing, and designing new projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide mentorship and technical support to young entrepreneurs.
  • Ensure quality planning and implementation of the project at a regional level.
  • Develop and execute capacity building plans based on identified needs.
  • Document and share insights, challenges, and successes.
  • Enhance knowledge management and project visibility.
  • Strengthen partnerships and networking.
  • Uphold BRAC policies, including safeguarding measures.

Safeguarding Roles:

  • Promote a culture of safeguarding across all levels.
  • Ensure compliance with BRAC’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, development studies, or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant field is an advantage.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in education, youth empowerment, or social development, with at least two years in a similar role within an NGO.
  • Proficiency in project implementation, partnership development, and team collaboration.
  • Commitment to creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment.
