Responsibilities:
- Provide visionary leadership to advance the mission and objectives of Water Compass.
- Develop and implement strategic plans in collaboration with the board of directors to achieve organizational goals.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization, including program management, fundraising, finance, and administration.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including donors, partners, government agencies, and the community.
- Lead and inspire a diverse team of staff and volunteers to maximize their potential and impact.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and maintain transparency and accountability in all aspects of operations.
- Represent Water Compass in public forums, conferences, and media to promote awareness of water-related issues and advocate for change.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in a leadership role, preferably in the nonprofit sector or a related field.
- Strong strategic planning and organizational skills, with the ability to set priorities and make sound decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and motivate others.
- Demonstrated track record of successful fundraising and resource mobilization.
- Knowledge of water-related issues and a commitment to social and environmental justice.
- Experience working in international development or cross-cultural settings is desirable.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
