Job Summary:

The World Bank’s Uganda Office seeks a dynamic and seasoned Senior Executive Assistant to support the Country Manager and lead the Administrative and Client Support (ACS) team. This role offers a pivotal opportunity to contribute to our mission of ending extreme poverty and promoting shared prosperity in a sustainable manner. The ideal candidate will be a highly organized, energized professional with a knack for operating effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact and liaison for the Country Manager, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage the Country Manager’s schedule, ensuring efficient prioritization and logistical arrangements.
  • Lead and manage the ACS staff, including recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance evaluations, and training needs assessment.
  • Provide research support, manage data, and ensure the smooth operation of office support workflows.
  • Coordinate and monitor work processes to ensure timely delivery of management decisions and products.
  • Serve as secretary to office meetings, facilitating official processes and maintaining high standards of document management and correspondence.

Selection Criteria:

  • Education: College diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in business administration or social sciences preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of seven years of relevant experience, with a strong preference for candidates having extensive knowledge of Bank Group processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
    • Advanced organizational skills and the ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
    • Proven discretion, confidentiality, and ethical conduct.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and judgment.
    • Proficiency in MS Office, SAP, and other relevant software.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.

  • In-depth knowledge of technology, systems, and administrative policies.
  • Proven ability in project and task management, with a strong orientation towards results.
  • Excellent team leadership skills, with a focus on client orientation and driving results.
