The Brighter Living Foundation is delighted to invite applications for the Brighter Living Scholarships. These scholarships are designed for four dynamic young leaders from Africa, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific regions, providing them with the unique opportunity to attend the prestigious One Young World Summit 2024 in Montréal, Canada. This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering young entrepreneurial talent and supporting impactful work in crucial societal areas.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age: Applicants must be between 18 to 30 years old.
- Residency: Must reside in Africa, Latin America, or Asia-Pacific regions.
- Experience: Should have 3 to 5 years’ experience in the agri-food or beauty business, preferably owning or co-owning a business.
- Impact: Must be actively making a positive impact in one of the scholarship’s focus areas.
- Availability: Must be available to travel to Canada and participate in all scheduled programs surrounding the summit, from 15 – 23 September 2024.
Scholarship Focus Areas:
- Climate & Nature: Projects or businesses focused on sustainability and environmental conservation.
- Nutrition & Health: Initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes and nutrition.
- Social: Efforts that strengthen social bonds and address social issues such as equity and inclusion.
Scholarship Benefits:
- Summit Access: Full delegate access to the One Young World Summit from 18-21 September 2024.
- Additional Programming: Participation in the Brighter Living Foundation’s exclusive pre-Summit (16 and 17 September) and post-Summit (22 September) programmes.
- Accommodation: Hotel accommodation in Montréal from 15 to 22 September (inclusive).
- Catering: Meals provided throughout the event.
- Travel: Return air travel to Montréal, Canada.
- Community Membership: Permanent membership in the One Young World Ambassador Community, providing networking, collaboration, and further development opportunities.
Application Process:
To apply for this scholarship, eligible candidates must submit a detailed application that highlights their experience and impact in one of the focus areas. The application should also include:
- A current CV.
- Personal statement describing your leadership and entrepreneurial journey.
- Evidence of impact in the focus area(s).
- A business plan or a detailed description of your project.
- Two references.
