International Potato Center Uganda is involved in the NUTRI+4AID project, focusing on gender and food systems. We are currently seeking a Graduate Intern to support project activities.
Job Description:
The Graduate Intern will be involved in conducting value chain studies, storage studies, and qualitative analysis of crises in a humanitarian setting. This internship is limited to Uganda nationals and permanent residents, with a duration of three months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct value chain studies to estimate post-harvest losses and nutrient flow.
- Perform storage studies to assess nutritional changes and quality affected by environmental factors.
- Review conceptual frameworks on qualitative analysis of crises.
- Collect data through interviews on crop volume, post-harvest losses, and food composition.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or possess an MSc. or MA in social sciences (Agriculture, Gender studies).
- Proficiency in gender-responsive scientific report writing.
- Experience in data collection and analysis (mixed methods, qualitative data analysis).
- Proficiency in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with qualitative data analysis tools such as Atlas or Nvivo.
- Proficiency in quantitative data analysis using Stata.
- Understanding of Luganda, Runyakitara, and Luo languages.
