About UNMISS:
The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) was established in 2011 with the aim of promoting peace, security, and development in South Sudan.
Key Responsibilities:
Asset Management:
- Creation of notifications for users and equipment write-off.
- Maintenance of inventory and equipment master data.
- Assistance in receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming ICT assets.
- Issuance of ICT equipment and maintenance of records in the asset control system.
- Monitoring of physical inventory of stocked items.
- Generation of reports using Power BI.
- Spare parts tracking and related duties.
Server/Data Centre Administration:
- Technical assistance in server operations and administration.
- Installation, configuration, and testing of server systems hardware and software.
- Administration, operation, and technical support of server systems.
- Collaboration with other units for optimal server systems operations.
- Assistance in planning and implementing security controls.
- Participation in security incident response activities.
Network Administration:
- Support for network projects implementation.
- Review of network configuration for efficiency.
- Management of network backup and security enforcement policies.
- Implementation of new technologies for voice, video, and data integration.
- Maintenance of data security projects.
IT Service Support:
- Coordination of service requests and tasks.
- Provision of basic training to end-users.
- Logging of actions and escalation of problems as per procedure.
- Quality assurance procedures and client satisfaction.
- Keeping abreast of developments in information systems and technology.
ICT Security/DRBC:
- Involvement in Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plan.
- Installation, operation, and maintenance of information security systems.
- Regular security assessments and vulnerability analysis.
- Maintenance of scheduled updates for ICT systems.
Other Responsibilities:
- General assistance across various fields of ICT support services.
- Participation in cross-functional teams within FTS for ICT-related projects.
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent required.
- Technical or vocational qualification in Information and Telecommunication Systems desirable.
- Minimum five years of experience in office automation and Asset management-related functions.
- Fluency in oral and written English required.
- Experience in a complex technical environment and Information systems support.
- Experience within the United Nations system or similar international organization desirable.
