Job Summary

The International Potato Center is planning a field experimental study to assess demand for improved sweetpotato varieties. The study will target sweetpotato farm households in Katakwi district, Eastern Region of Uganda. This study specifically aims at establishing the demand for quality vines of new and pathogen-free varieties of sweetpotato among smallholder farmers. Thus, the consultant will aid in data collection during real field auction from auction participants using tablets.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

Objective

  • Help the logistics (especially ensuring that participants follow instructions) during the auction process
  • Collect data using tablets from auction participants

Deliverables

  • Data approved by survey coordinator for completeness, consistency and accuracy
Time frame
  •  Consultancy contract will be for 25 days.

 

 

Qualifications

  • College/Bachelor’s degree
  • Specialty in Agriculture, agribusiness management, economics, statistics, and other related fields
  • Expertise required Data collection, use of tablets to collect data
  • At least two (2) years of experience
  • Skills survey data collection skills, soft/interpersonal skills, team work
