Job Title: JUNIOR BUYING CLERK

About This Job: Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is a manpower management solutions firm operating in the East African Region, including Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, and South Sudan. We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, Mr. Green Africa, for a competent, skilled, and experienced Junior Buying Clerk to work in Uganda.

Job Purpose: The Junior Buying Clerk’s role is to ensure the efficient operation of the Trading Point on all working days, serving MGA Suppliers with speed, protocol, and accuracy as per set Operating Guidelines. This includes operating the trading point cash account and mobile payment requests, ensuring accurate pricing based on operating processes, maintaining housekeeping standards, and providing support in other operational areas set out by MGA Management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Supplier Experience & Relations:
    • Interact with all suppliers to build customer relationships aimed at loyalty and retention.
    • Represent MGA as the brand ambassador in the Community, maintaining positive relationships with partners, stakeholders, and communities.
  2. Quality Control:
    • Purchase recyclable plastic from suppliers as per Product & Price Guidelines.
    • Ensure all Quality Control measures are observed, with a maximum threshold of 2% waste in total plastic bought.
  3. Retail Store Operations:
    • Manage Cash Management following set guidelines and protocols.
    • Accountable for all stock purchased at the store, from point of purchase to stock take, to avoid company losses.
  4. Logistics:
    • Manage dispatch of purchased recyclables in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
    • Ensure all stock received and dispatched is accounted for and signed off prior to transfer.
  5. Health and Safety:
    • Responsible for all Health & Safety Protocols at the Retail Store to achieve MGA safety standards.
  6. Communication:
    • Ensure all information meant for suppliers is effectively communicated.

Experience and Qualifications:

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Business / Community Development Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of two years of experience
  • Computer literacy is an added advantage

  • Ability to interact with diverse cultures and people of different social classes
  • Supplier Management & Conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work in a digital environment using Apps and Digital Phones and Tools of work
  • Ability to work under pressure both physically and mentally
  • Flexibility to work extended working hours, weekends, and holidays when needed
  • Ability to use a smartphone is a MUST
