UGAFODE Microfinance Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced Human Resource Officer to join their team. The HR Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the development and execution of HR strategy, managing HR operations, and ensuring efficient HR service delivery to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Management & Administration: Prepare and process payroll using both manual and HRMIS systems. Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements.
- HR Records Management: Maintain accurate employee data in HRMIS and personal files. Manage access and retrieval of information.
- Managing Contracts: Engage, monitor, and manage HR outsourced contractors for services such as insurance, medical cover, and consultancy.
- HR Administration: Manage employee leave, benefits, and welfare administration. Compile, verify, approve, file, and track according to institutional standards.
- Staff Advances: Process staff loans and advances, recommend for approval/decline, and update payroll. Ensure compliance and effective management of recovery.
- HR Business Partnering: Serve as the HR Business Partner for advisory services to support functions such as Risk, Compliance, Legal, HR, and MD Secretary.
- Separation Management: Handle administrative aspects of staff separation process in line with HR policy.
- HR Letters: Process and issue HR correspondences to employees. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and effective filing.
- HR Reporting: Develop reports on HR operations activities. Provide necessary management information (HR Analytics) to business departments.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Social Sciences, Psychology, or Business Administration. Postgraduate diploma in HRM is desirable.
- Three years of professional experience in HR Management in a competitive business environment.
- HR professional membership and Certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, HRMAU) is desirable.
- Knowledge of Uganda Labour laws and familiarity with International Labour laws.
- Proficient in MS Office and Human Resource Management systems (HRMIS).
- Excellent analytical, decision-making, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills.
- Influential, persuasive, solution-focused, innovative, and flexible with a “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to build rapport with employees and vendors.
