Job Overview:

KCB Bank is seeking a motivated and experienced Relationship Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing sales of SME assets, liabilities, and various banking products as per the targets set by the SME Manager. This role involves dealing with customer queries, requests, instructions, and providing information on the bank’s products to both existing and potential customers. Additionally, the Relationship Manager will facilitate the SME Centre’s service delivery to customers and handle the establishment of new and variation of existing account relationships, primarily focusing on SME accounts.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Sell bank products to new customers and cross-sell to existing customers.
  • Handle the establishment of new account relationships and variations to existing ones.
  • Participate in initial stages of credit matters and disseminate information relating to the bank’s products & services.
  • Mobilize deposits for the bank.
  • Collect information from customers relating to account relationships.
  • Conduct initial interviews with customers requiring financial assistance and guide them accordingly.
  • Manage sales calls, market intelligence gathering, and customer complaints.
  • Guide and conduct initial appraisal of loan applications.
  • Ensure customers understand and sign letters of offer.
  • Maintain the advances facilities books.

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • A university degree in a relevant business discipline. Additional professional qualifications in general banking will be an advantage.
  • At least 4 years of experience in sales and services relevant to SME customers.
  • Proficient in identifying, analyzing, and structuring SME lending requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of banking products and services.
  • Knowledge of Digital Financial Services and their relevance to SME customers.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to secure business.
  • Highly motivated with a passion for performance and an openness to new ideas in a rapidly changing business environment.

Work Hours: Full-time, 8 hours per day.

Experience Required: Minimum of 48 months (4 years).

Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
