Prudential Assurance Uganda Limited is seeking two Accountants to join their Finance department. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accountants will be responsible for managing all financial transactions within PAUL. The successful candidates will provide accurate quantitative information on the financial position, liquidity, and cash flows of the organization while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information.
- Adhere to group reporting timelines and deadlines.
- Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Maintain a list of company assets and their depreciation.
- Perform financial analysis and forecasting to support business decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
- Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends and apply knowledge to enhance financial reporting processes.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Core Competencies Required:
- BSc in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant degree.
- Additional certification (PA or ACCA) is a plus.
- Work experience as an Accountant.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including Vlookups and pivot tables.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
