Job Summary:
The Underwriting Officer will play a key role in evaluating and assessing risks according to the company’s underwriting guidelines. This position is integral to ensuring that PAX delivers efficient and effective service to its clients.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Risk Assessment: Review all applications for insurance to determine risk profiles and ensure compliance with underwriting standards.
- Document Preparation: Generate necessary policy documentation including debit and credit notes, and endorsements.
- Premium Calculation: Accurately determine policy premiums in line with regulatory requirements.
- Renewal Management: Manage policy renewals, including issuing renewal notices and conducting follow-ups to ensure timely renewals.
- Intermediary Liaison: Work closely with intermediaries to address any issues related to policy documentation.
- Underwriting Coordination: Ensure that all underwriting activities are well-coordinated and adhere to established policies and procedures.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Educational Background: Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field such as Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
- Professional Certification: A Diploma in Insurance would be a significant advantage.
- Experience: Preferably two years of work experience in an insurance setting, although fresh graduates with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in the use of standard office software.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
