Job Summary:
We are seeking to recruit an Internal Audit Assistant to support the Senior Internal Auditor and the Internal Auditor to conduct various types of audits and reviews to determine the adequacy of internal controls, efficiency of the policies and procedures in accordance with accepted professional standards and adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Internal Audit Assignments

  • Support the preparation of basic documentation for any audit starting and perform tests for assigned tasks as per the audit programme and instructions from the Senior Internal Auditor or Internal Auditor.
  • Document the work done and conclusions in the set format for audit working papers, summarise the findings, form conclusions, highlight risk implications, and compile working papers with complete documentation for each assignment.
  • Follow up External Audit recommendations and Internal Audit assignments.

Administrative Support for the Internal Audit Department

  • Organize appointments with appropriate leaders.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the budget and annual work-plan.
  • Document and file minutes for departmental meetings.
  • Handle administrative tasks for audit trips out of the office.
  • Prepare periodic requisitions for all office supplies.
  • Manage cash advances for assignments.
  • Support in keeping track of department budget.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a similar/relevant discipline.
  • Enrolled for a professional accounting qualification.
  • One year of working experience in a medium-sized organization.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office packages (Especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS project).
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and possess a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Confidentiality – treat acquired information with the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Quality Assurance – periodic self-assessment reviews against each audit with supervisor comments.
