Job Description:

  • Prepare and execute annual procurement plans, liaising with stakeholders to determine project requirements and delivering initiatives to maximize resources.
  • Manage procurement categories by analyzing supply markets, conducting sourcing and procurement activities, and supporting tender evaluation processes.
  • Conduct contracting and vendor management, drafting contracts, managing supplier performance, and resolving disputes.
  • Support the provision of field teams by tracking purchase requisitions, providing updates, and coordinating deliveries.
  • Champion compliance with procurement and financial policies and standards, providing guidance to staff, supporting audits, and compiling compliance reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement by implementing best practices, contributing to policy improvements, and providing training to staff.
  • Support logistics processes by liaising with field offices, coordinating payments, and managing orders.
  • Support procurement performance reporting by tracking tender plans and team targets and providing updates.
  • Provide support to the Head of Finance and Administration and perform other duties as assigned.

Person Specification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or related field.
  • CIPS qualification, minimum Level 6, desirable as an alternative to a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement or a supply chain role with significant purchasing exposure.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in an analytical role, working with spreadsheets and producing reports.
  • Two years’ experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Intermediate level user of Microsoft Excel with good knowledge of standard workplace IT-tools.
  • Good understanding of international trade, logistics, laws, practices, and Uganda customs requirements.
  • Client-oriented, innovative, and constantly developing new or improved approaches.
